Designer Home Surplus Shipping Policy

Freight Items Are Shipped Differently Than Regular Parcels!

We provide FREE “freight” shipping from our dock to the nearest freight terminal located near you, which saves you considerable expense on large and heavy items. However, you are responsible for arranging delivery from the terminal dock to your home. Also note that additional fees will apply for home delivery and does not include installation. If you have a commercial address with dock that you would like us to ship to please give us a call at 1.888.804.9825. We can provide shipping to your home, but it requires special equipment and costs an additional $150, and again, doesn’t include installation. Standard Shipping vs. Freight Shipping: Many consumers are unfamiliar with the differences between "regular shipping" and "freight shipping". While a lamp or CD can easily be shipped in a standard FedEx or UPS truck, the same cannot be said of a refrigerator or oven. The size, shape, weight and delicate nature of the internal components of any major appliance mean it can’t be delivered through regular shipping companies. In fact, neither FedEx nor UPS will ship freight items.

In addition, the type of equipment used to handle these delicate and heavy items are specifically designed for the task, which greatly increases the cost of delivery. Fortunately for our customers, we offer FREE STANDARD SHIPPING/FREIGHT on all items, to addresses in the lower 48 US states. This is significant since the price to ship an oven or refrigerator can cost hundreds of dollars. Still, freight shipping is very different than regular shipping and doesn’t include delivery to your home or installation. Locations like Alaska, HI, any of the Florida Keys and addresses in Canada are excluded from free shipping/freight.

Items deemed too large, heavy, fragile, or expensive to ship via UPS, FedEx, or USPS will be sent via freight. Even though a tub does not weigh much, its overall size requires us to ship via freight. Items shipped via freight will be shipped FREE from dock to dock. That means that our freight carrier will ship from our dock to their dock in the city closest to the buyer, or a dock that is specified by the buyer. It is then the buyer’s responsibility to arrange for pick-up from the dock, delivery to a home address, and payment of any additional fees is required.

UPS Shipping FedEX Shipping

For most freight carriers, the surcharge for “Home Delivery” or "Inside Delivery" does not mean the appliance will be moved any further than your curbside or garage. We recommend that you arrange for qualified professionals to bring your appliance inside the home for installation. Any additional services, like delivery to the buyer’s home or installation, remain the buyer’s responsibility. Also note that a college campus does not qualify as a commercial address and most freight carriers will only ship to a campus with authorization from the university or college, not a student.

Special Pricing: Due to our shipping volume, we have negotiated special pricing for special deliveries from our freight carriers. Please contact us to inquire about other freight shipping options.

Shipping Time: Items are shipped/freighted within 5 business days of payment. Notification before purchase is required for express or delayed shipping.

PayPal Requirements: PayPal requests sellers only ship items to a confirmed address; however, some common carrier residential driveway drop deliveries may not be available to all confirmed address destinations due to size, weight, location, or ease of access. This means that if our carrier is unable to deliver the item to your confirmed address, you may not be able to pay using PayPal. Depending on the item, selling price, and buyer's feedback, we reserve the right to waive this preference and ship the item to an unconfirmed address for payments made with PayPal verified accounts. Please call or email us with any questions regarding this policy.

Item pickup: Any item purchased can be picked up at our warehouse in Dallas, Texas by appointment.

 

The Designer Home Surplus Return Policy

Our goal is to have happy customers and build long term relationships. If you bought something from us and you don’t like it, return it in 7 days NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Keep in mind that all items are sold as is and as described, so if you are not sure, please call us and ask before purchasing. Returns are accepted within 7 days of receipt and approved before return and the buyer must have a Return Authorization Number (RMA). Items must be returned with all parts, packing materials and documentation, and must be returned in the same condition they were received. Buyer is responsible for all return shipping and freight costs and all freight items must be returned using our approved freight carriers. We do not charge re-stocking fees.
